The Sensex and the Nifty today tumbled around one percent. Both stocks declined amid negative cues from the global equity markets. The Sensex closed below 57,300 and the Nifty ended near 17,100 level.
The BSE Sensex plunged 581 points, or one percent to settle at 57,277 and the NSE Nifty lost 168 points, or 0.97 percent, to finish at 17,110.
