Germany extends Covid curbs as Omicron variant spreads

Germany has extended its current pandemic measures over the fears that Omicron variant could bring critical infrastructure to a breaking point. These measures include limiting private gatherings to 10 people and requiring proof of booster vaccination or a negative test at restaurants.

In Berlin, compulsory school attendance will be suspended until the end of February. Germany has reported 63,393 new COVID-19 cases,  86% jump from a week ago.
