|South Africa defeated India in the third and final Test of the series at the Newlands in Cape Town yesterday to seal the series 2-1. The hosts chased a 212-run target with seven wickets to spare as Keegan Petersen top-scored with 82 for the side, and was ably supported by Rassie van der Dussen, Captain Dean Elgar and Temba Bavuma.
Dean Elgar’s men made a remarkable comeback in the series after losing the first Test in Centurion, beating India by same margin in the second match in Johannesburg as well. India have never won a Test series in South Africa so far. Earlier India scored 223 and 198 in their first innings and second innings respectively. Proteas scored 210 in their first innings and 212 for three in the second innings.
