Home Minister Amit Shah presided over as Chief Guest at the 57th BSF Raising Day Parade being held at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. The BSF, which was raised on December 1, 1965, after the India-Pakistan war, guards over 6,000 km of the international border. The Raising Day Parade is being organized outside Delhi for the first time.
Participating in the event, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took the salute of the Parade. He also presented medals to BSF personnel on the occasion.
The Home Minister, who reached Rajasthan yesterday on a two-day visit, reviewed the security situation at the Indo-Pak border last evening. He also witnessed the patrolling done by the BSF personnel along the international border.
The Home Minister interacted with the BSF personnel at Rohitash Border Post and also spent the night with them.
