Detections of Covid-19 in Maharashtra remains below 1,000 for 6th consecutive day

In Maharashtra, detections of Covid-19 in the state remained below 1,000 for the sixth consecutive day.

According to state officials, nearly 12 days after Diwali celebrations, no unusual surge has been noted so far. However the administration is keeing close watch. State’s Capital Mumbai also continued to report less than 300 cases for the sixth day in a row.Covid-19 deaths in the city have remained in single digits for more than 105 days. AIR Correspondent reports that Maharashtra reported 886 fresh cases of coronavirus and 34 Fatalities on Tuesday .

According to state’s surveillance officer Dr.Pradeep Awate, there has been a slight rise in covid fatalities over the past few days.However, Maharashtra cumulative fatality rate has been consistent at 2.14%. He also said that the state which carries an average of 1 lakh to 1.25 lakh tests daily, has witnessed reduction in fresh cases post-Diwali.

Daily positivity rate is dipping down consistently and a steady decline in observed the number of active cases.In Mumbai too the covid situation is improving with patient growth rate coming down from 0.07 to 0.04. Also, the number of critical patients dropped from 450 to 258. Mumbai’s civic body has informed that the number of sealed buildings and floors in Mumbai has been reduced by 287.
