Tamil Nadu CM urges people to follow Covid protocols, get double doses of vaccination

The Tamil Nadu Government has relaxed the Covid restrictions from the 15th of this month to let people celebrate the festive season. Chief Minister MK. Stalin has emphasised that Covid protocols should be followed strictly as the pandemic is yet to be over. He has also called upon people to get double doses of vaccination as round the clock vaccination facilities are available at all Government hospitals, medical colleges and district hospitals.
AIR Correspondent reports that, people have started visiting temples, mosques and churches with Covid restrictions in Tamil Nadu. Beaches have been opened to the public on Sundays. People of all ages are thronging to all the places and Chennai city is as vibrant as before with shopping, sightseeing and strolls on beaches on a bright Sunday morning. Everyone could be seen with masks. Food streets and roadside eateries are busy preparing idli, dosa, puri, samosas, pakoras, hot coffee and tea for the public. Street shops selling colourful bangles, jhumkas and other accessories are also back with vigour.
Vegetable stalls are selling fresh green vegetables and fruits. The Government has issued strict regulations so that violation of Standard operating procedures will invite penalty. Restrictions continue with 100 people for weddings and 50 people for funerals. Car parks and roads are witnessing the usual crowd. The State has registered one thousand 233 new covid cases yesterday. One thousand 434 covid patients were discharged after recovery. A total of 15 deaths were reported. Fifteen thousand 238 patients are under treatment. One lakh 29 thousand 773 samples were tested by RT PCR.
