Many parts of Maharashtra have been witnessing incessant rain since Saturday night. AIR correspondent reports that incessant rainfall is being experienced in several districts including Nanded, Jalna, Wasim, Hingoli, Dhule, Parbhani, Jalgaon and Yavatmal.
Heavy rainfall also resulted in flash flooding in many areas. Soyabean and cotton crops in Hingoli and Wasim districts have been severely affected. The floods have closed Sarapkhed-Dhodap and Karda-Gobhani district highways. Due to this, 40 villages in Risod and Washim talukas along the Pan Ganga river are on high alert.
In Yavatmal district, three persons were killed in rain related incidents. In Jalgoan district, the water level of the reservoir is increasing due to incessant rain in the Waghur dam area.
