About National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)
On October 12, 1993, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) was established under the Protection of Human Rights Act 1993 to promote and safeguard human rights. The Commission investigates all types of human rights infringement, conducts investigations, and, in cases of human rights violations, recommends to the public authorities the payment of compensation to victims, as well as other corrective and legal steps against erring public officials.
