Interacting with the media, the Union Minister said, “India is celebrating 75 yrs of Independence. We have to make India clean & beautiful. The Youth Affairs & Sports Ministry has started an initiative to collect 75 lakh kgs of plastic & waste from 1st October – 31th October. We collected over 30 lakh kgs across the nation within 10 days.”
If everyone becomes aware and throws waste in dustbins, then perhaps there will be no need to have such cleanliness drives in the future, the Union Minister added.
