Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan and chief minister Nitish Kumar today paid floral tributes to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary during a state function organized at the Income Tax roundabout in the Patna.
Both the governor and the CM garlanded Loknayak’s statue at the Income Tax roundabout.
The veteran socialist leader popularly known as JP was once lathi-charged by police at the same Income Tax roundabout during the Bihar movement. JP was born on October 11, 1902 and breathed his last on October 8, 1979.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also visited residence of Jayaprakash Narayan in Patna and paid floral tributes to him.
