BJP leader and Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan today expressed concern over the increasing instances of violence against women in Kerala.
He was speaking after flagging off the Trivarna Yatra organised by the BJP in Kochi to mark Gandhi Jayanti.
Referring to recent violent incidents in Kerala, the Minister observed that women in the state are not safe even during broad daylight.
He said such incidents cannot be termed accidental.
He noted that a decisive administrative set up and an efficient Home Department is essential to ensure the safety of women.
The Minister also garlanded the statute of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion.
