Bangladesh recorded a sample positivity rate below 5 percent for the 9th consecutive day on Wednesday.
It marks an improvement in the COVID situation in the country as well as a hopeful scenario about the containment of the pandemic in Bangladesh. The country had recorded above 5 percent sample positivity rate on September 20.
According to the latest bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 17 deaths and 1178 fresh cases were recorded in the country on Wednesday. The death toll in Bangladesh has now gone up to 27,487.
Meanwhile, close to 67 lakh people received the COVID 9 vaccination during the special drive organised on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s birthday on Tuesday. The government had planned to provide vaccination to 75 lakh people to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on September 28.
Till now, 2.14 crore people have received the first dose of vaccine in the country while 87.30 lakh people have received both the doses of the vaccine till Tuesday.
