BJP approaches ECI over alleged attack on Dilip Ghosh in West Bengal during Bhabanipur by-polls campaign

BJP today approached the Election Commission over the alleged attack on its leader Dilip Ghosh in West Bengal during the campaign for Bhabanipur by-polls. A party delegation comprising Union Ministers Anurag Thakur, Bhupender Yadav and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi met the Commission over the issue in New Delhi.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Yadav demanded strict action in the matter. He said the Commission called for a report from the State government in which it said eight people have been arrested. He said, such an action is just an eyewash. The Minister added that the arrest itself proves that the attack did take place.

He alleged that TMC workers were behind the attack and demanded that the poll panel should appoint micro-observers for the bypolls.
