Another feather to India’s vaccination program| Andaman & Nicobar achieves 100% 1st dose vaccination of eligible population

In a milestone leap in India’s fight against Covid-19, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands has inoculated all eligible beneficiaries with the first dose of the vaccine, thus acing the 100 per cent vaccination target.

A total of 2,81,711 beneficiaries have been vaccinated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, till date, in the union territory. In addition, a total of 4,15,889 doses have been administered so far in the islands.

India’s record vaccination drive:

In a major momentum to India’s vaccination drive, the nation is setting novel records each passing day.

Most recently, the country administered 2.5 Crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in a single day on 17th September. The milestone being achieved is hailed as the nation’s tribute to PM Modi, on his 71st birthday.

Six Indian states/UTs administer 100% first dose vaccination to eligible population:

In another milestone, six Indian states & union territories have vaccinated 100 percent of its eligible population with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

According to the central government data, the states that have successfully achieved this remarkable feat are Dadar & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, and Sikkim.
Further, as per the data retrieved from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the number of vaccine shots administered by these states are as followed:

– Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu- 6.26 lakh doses
– Goa- 11.83 lakh dose
– Himachal Pradesh- 55.74 lakh doses
– Ladakh- 1.97 lakh doses
– Lakshadweep- 53,499 doses
– Sikkim- 5.10 lakh doses

82 Crore vaccine doses administered so far:

According to official data, from the Ministry of Health & Family welfare, India has so far administered over82 crore vaccine doses across the country.

Further, more than 40 percent of the population has been administered at least one dose of the vaccine, across India and over 12 percent of the Indian population has been fully vaccinated.
