Anurag Thakur calls for collective and synergised initiatives for comprehensive socio-economic development of Himachal Pradesh

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur has called for collective, synergised, unified and proactive initiatives to work for the comprehensive socio-economic development of the state of Himachal Pradesh. He was speaking at a felicitation function for all former and sitting legislators and parliamentarians at Library Hall of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. The function was organised after conclusion of Special Session of State Legislative Assembly in Shimla on Friday on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Statehood of Himachal Pradesh. Mr. Thakur emphasized the need of formulating a visionary 50 Year Roadmap for the Himachal Pradesh to make it a model state in the country. He said, peoples’ mandate makes it imperative for the political leadership to embark collectively above political interests, to work for the welfare and development of Himachal Pradesh. He recalled role and contribution of all previous dispensations particularly exemplary contribution of Dr Y.S. Parmar in establishing the state of Himachal Pradesh. He also hailed the immense contribution of all former & sitting legislators and parliamentarians for bringing Himachal Pradesh to the point of all positive developmental indicators after 50 years of establishment of the State in 1971. He said that despite difficult geographical conditions, the 50 years journey of this hill State has been glorious and full of achievements.

Mr Thakur called for initiating efforts to showcase developmental story and journey of Himachal Pradesh to younger generation through Doordarshan and mass media so that they could imbibe positivity out of the efforts, initiatives and inputs infused by the earlier political class and cross section of people in the overall socio-economic development of Himachal Pradesh. He urged Assembly Speaker to expose young students to the immense treasure of quality speeches of all political stalwarts including CMs, Leaders of Opposition and Legislators besides proceedings of the Legislative Assembly Sessions.

The Union Minister reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to ensure fair, just & equitable socio economic development of people of the country.

He said the Union government under the leadership of PM Modi has already embarked on the proactive path of AatmaNirbhar Bharat (Self Reliant India) wherein all initiatives and programmes are vigorously underway to enlist prosperity, growth & development in all sectors for cross section of citizens irrespective of caste, colour, creed or religion.
