Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Defence Offices Complexes at Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Africa Avenue. PM Modi visited the Defence Office Complex at Africa Avenue and held an interaction with Army, Navy, Air Force and Civilian Officers.

”These modern offices built at KG Marg and Africa Avenue will go a long way in effectively carrying out all the work related to the security of the nation. This is a big step towards the construction of a modern defence enclave in the capital. He further appreciated the inclusion of attractive artifacts by artists in the complexes as symbols of AaatmNirbhar Bharat. “The complexes reflect the modern form of the diversity of our culture while preserving the vitality of Delhi and environment”, said PM.

PM Modi remarked that the capital is not just a city. The capital of any country is a symbol of the thinking, determination, strength, and culture of that country. India is the mother of democracy. Therefore, the capital of the country should be such, in which there are citizens, people in the center.

PM Modi further stressed the role of modern infrastructure in the government’s focus on ease of living and ease of doing business. “The ongoing construction work of Central Vista is going on with this thought only,” he said.

About New Defence Office Complexes

Around 7,000 officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force, will be accommodated in the new Defence Offices Complexes. The building will provide modern, safe, and functional working environments. An Integrated Command and Control Centre has been built to manage building operations while also ensuring the overall safety and surveillance of these buildings.

The new Defence Office Complexes are energy-efficient, with extensive security measures in place. One of the distinguishing elements of these structures is the use of LGSF (Light gauge steel frame), a sustainable construction technology that has reduced the construction time from 24 to 30 months in RCC construction. The buildings make use of resource-efficient green technologies that encourage environmentally-friendly practices.

The inaugural function was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt, Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat among others.
