Rise in the number of Corona cases in Puducherry in the recent days has forced the Health Department to take actions to contain its spread. Various rounds of reviews and meetings are being held by the Lt. Governor, and the Health Secretary to the Government of Puducherry.

In Puducherry Union Territory, today as many as 124 persons were diagnosed with COVID.

Yesterday it was 103 cases, and the day before it was 61. Even though rise in the number of cases are attributed to the number of tests conducted, it is feared to be a matter of concern.

Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, appealed to the people of Puducherry to get themselves vaccinated for COVID. In her latest tweet, she has said that Puducherry would achieve vaccination target of 100% soon .
She also has cautioned that the unvaccinated may get infected and that may lead to hospitalisation and other complexities, and if vaccinated they get over 98% protection against COVID.
