Prasar Bharati signs MoU with Sansad TV

Prasar Bharati and ‘Sansad TV’ have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for the uplink of ‘Sansad TV’ in HDTV format. The MoU has been signed by Prasar Bharati in the exchange of archival content of LSTV/RSTV.

Prasar Bharati is India’s largest Public Service Broadcaster. It is a statutory autonomous body that comprises the Doordarshan Television Network and All India Radio.

In February 2021, It was decided that LSTV & RSTV channels should be merged as ‘Sansad TV’. It will be telecast in both HDTV and SDTV formats as Sansad TV-HD and Sansad TV-SD
respectively.

Sansad TV has been jointly launched by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, PM Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on 15 September 2021.

It is being modernized and upgraded to carry one SDTV and one HDTV signal for distribution to Cable and Satellite MSOs. The up-gradation and modernization of the teleport is likely to take six months.
