The Indian community in Beijing today celebrated Ganeshotsav with traditional fervor and gaiety.
The celebrations, led by Beijing Marathi Mitra Mandal were part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ which was attended by more than 200 members of Indian diaspora and many other foreigners at the Indian Embassy premises.
India’s Ambassador to China Vikram Misri and other officials of the embassy also attended the event which was full of devotion and festivity celebrating Indian culture.
The Indian community led by Marathi mandal welcomed Lord Ganesha in traditional style with chants of shlokas and Aarti.
Cultural program was also presented by the community members.
An Art exhibition celebrating different forms of Lord Ganesha was put up by the paintings by the kids which displayed their creativity. Kids also presented a dance program which was the centre of attraction.
Few days ago, Beijing Malayali Association led the Onam celebrations bringing together the Indian community and friends of India at the embassy.
Pookkalam Contest was held with 6 teams reflecting the creative talents of Indian diaspora.
Traditional Sadya was also served.
Foreigners of different nationalities took keen interest in understanding the Indian festivals and culture in both the programs.
