President Kovind lays foundation stone for National Law University in Allahabad

President Ram Nath Kovind today said that Central and State governments are working with Judiciary for a better judicial system in the country. President was speaking at the function of foundation stones laying for Uttar Pradesh National Law University and new building complex of Allahabad High Court in Prayagraj today.

Chief justice of India NV Ramana, many senior judges, Union law minister kiren rijiju, Governor of the state Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present at the function. Speaking on the occasion President said that People have immense belief in the judiciary of the country but still they hesitate to come to the courts, this situation should change and It will only happen when all stakeholders will come together and become sensitive.

Talking about the recent inclusion women judges in the supreme court of India, President said that Women generally have a tendency to perform their activities with judicial prudence that is why we have to increase the number of women in the courts. Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said in his speech that government wants to work in collaboration with the judiciary and taking all necessary steps to strengthen the judicial system. He said that Justice to the common man is very important and the distance between courts and the common man should end so that people can believe in the judiciary system of the country.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on the occasion that today’s era is digital era and we understood it during corona period. He said that his government is spending money to digitise the system and development of the infrastructure at High court of Allahabad which is also the biggest court of Asia. President laid the foundation stone of the Uttar Pradesh National Law University also which will be established in jhalwa area of the city.

Taking about the contribution of Dr Rajendra Prasad, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the proposed law University should be named after the first president of india Dr Rajendra Prasad. Union law minister Kiren Rijiju congratulated people of state for this university and said that from next year the academic session of the university will start with 80 students. More than 1 thousand students will be able to get law education in graduation and post graduation courses of the proposed University which will have Residence facilities also.
