Javelin thrower Sumit Antil | PBNS Exclusive Conversation

Sumit Antil! A name representing extreme perseverance and hope. His indomitable spirit and dedication towards sports paved a way for him to scale new heights. Six years back life threw a painful challenge at Sumit when he lost his leg below the knee in an accident. Barely 17 then, the tragedy ended his dream of becoming a wrestler. Despite the hardship and fighting against all the odds, Antil roared back with a new dream, winning a Gold medal for India in Javelin throw at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games. The 23-year-old from Haryana’s Sonepat broke his own world record not once but thrice and bagged Gold country with a world record throw of 68.55m.
