Atal Innovation Mission’s Space challenge 2021 to foster curiosity among Schoolchildren regarding Space Sector

The world is anticipating an era that will be enabled by incredible developments in Space Technologies and countries are working on similar lines. India’s flagship initiative Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog once again stepped up to empower the Indian youth to explore the unknown Cosmos.

The world is anticipating an era that will be enabled by incredible developments in Space Technologies and countries are working on similar lines. India’s flagship initiative Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog once again stepped up to empower the Indian youth to explore the unknown Cosmos.

Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog launched the ATL Space Challenge 2021 in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Challenge will enable young individuals to innovate and further solve digital age space technology problems.

Mission Director AIM Dr. Chintan Vaishnav said, “ We are envisioning that the young innovators across the country will learn and engage in creating new the space sector and develop solutions that might be further beneficial well. We are grateful to ISRO and CBSE who have partnered with us to make it a great success. Students who secure top positions will be presented exciting prizes at the conclusion of the challenge”

ATL Space Challenge 2021

World Space Week is celebrated from 4 to 10 October each year across the globe to celebrate the contributions of space science and technology. On the same lines, the ATL Space Challenge 2021 will take place. 30th Sept is the last date for application submission for the Schools and participants across the country.

The aim of the challenge is to empower the young innovators of schools across the country to learn and engage in creating new, efficient, and innovative solutions for specific, real-world challenges in the Space sector. The participants will also work on solutions that will address the key problem areas of the Space challenge. The competition will enable young minds not only to identify problems but also to think and work on those problems. The best teams shall be recognized with fascinating opportunities and prizes at the conclusion of the ATL Space Challenge 2021.

Student and Team Eligibility

Students from across the country from ATL and Non-ATL schools can submit their entries in the Challenge. The mentors and ATL In-Charges can support the students in completing the challenge. Each Team should consist of a maximum of 3 students from classes 6 to 12 and one School Teacher/ ATL in charge can be included in the team. Failing in any such criteria, the team will be disqualified from the challenge.

Challenge Themes

In the challenge, each team will have to choose any one problem based on their interest and understanding. The problems will be based on the following themes:

  • Explore Space
  • Reach Space
  • Inhabit Space
  • Leverage Space

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is the Government of India’s flagship initiative to create and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across India. AIM’s objective is to develop new programs and policies for fostering innovation in different sectors of the economy, provide platforms and collaboration opportunities for different stakeholders, and create an umbrella structure to oversee the innovation & entrepreneurship ecosystem of the country.
