COVID-19: Manipur govt extends night curfew for another 15 days

The Manipur government has extended the night curfew imposed in the State by another fifteen days from today in view of COVID-19 pandemic while providing some more relaxations.

With the improvement in COVID-19 situation in the State, the time period of the night curfew has been reduced. It will be in effect from 7 PM to 4 AM. The State government has allowed physical attendance of all employees working in State and Central government offices. Banks have been permitted to conduct public transactions from 10 AM to 2.30 PM on all working days while postal service and insurance companies can also open on all working days at the given timing.

As per the new guidelines, vegetable shops have been allowed to function between 7 in the morning and 4 in evening everyday. Also, the time duration of shops selling construction materials has also been extended.

Meanwhile, in a sigh of relief, Manipur reported no Covid-19 death yesterday since the second wave of the pandemic hit the North-Eastern State. Two hundred eighty two new cases of COVID-19 were reported yesterday while two hundred ninety four people recovered from the infection. The recovery rate has risen to 95.71 percent.
