Bangladesh is not in a hurry in reaching a decision whether it will welcome or not the interim government in Afghanistan. Speaking to media in Dhaka, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said on Wednesday that Bangladesh is waiting to see a permanent government in Afghanistan before taking any decision, reports the UNB.
The Minister said that Bangladesh is observing the situation closely. The focus of Bangladesh remains on peace and stability in Afghanistan, said State Minister Shahriar Alam. He said they have come to know of the formation of the interim government in Afghanistan but Bangladesh does not want to do anything hurriedly.
Shahariar Alam said that Bangladesh is closely observing the developments in Afghanistan but it will not compromise on some ideological areas. He also said that if the United Nations or European Union gets involved in providing economic support to Afghanistan, Bangladesh will extend its support to that end, reports UNB.
