A Dhaka court sent the Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and eight others to four day remand for interrogation.
They were arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday from Dhaka under a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The other persons sent on remand by the court included Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad and Rafiqul Islam Khan along with three members of the executive council and a former President of the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md. Asaduzzaman told media that the accused had gathered in a flat in the Bashundhara Residential Area of Dhaka on Monday to plan subversive activities, reports the official news agency BSS.
