Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has said that senior Ministers of Government of India have held not one but 11 rounds of meetings with the farmers’ unions to address their issues.

Talking to the media in Bengaluru, Mr Thakur said, the government is always ready to hold talks with the farmers. He listed out several steps being taken by the Central government towards the welfare of farmers. He said, Narendra Modi government has increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) and procured more agricultural produce on MSP and also kept the prices of fertilizers under control.
The Minister said, the Central government transferred 1.5 lakh crore rupees directly into the bank accounts of farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
