Bangladesh Information Minister to open media centre at Press Club of India

The Information and Broadcasting Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Hasan Mahmud will be inaugurating the ‘Bangabandhu Media Centre’ at the Press Club of India (PCI) in Delhi on Monday, 6 Sept. The ‘Bangabandhu Media Centre’ at the PCI will be set up with the support of the Bangladesh High Commission in India. The PCI and Bangladesh High Commission have taken this initiative jointly to mark the birth anniversary of the founding President of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The MoU will be signed by Minister (Press) of the Bangladesh mission Shaban Mahmood and Secretary-General of the PCI Vinay Kumar on behalf of their respective sides.

The media centre will be equipped with modern facilities. It will have an exhibition hall and library on the first floor of the club.

Information and Broadcasting Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Hasan Mahmud is likely to meet his Indian counterpart Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur and other dignitaries during his 4-day visit to India, reports BSS the official news agency of Bangladesh.

Earlier, Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) had established the ‘Bangabandhu Chair’ at Delhi University to promote research and study related to Bangladesh. A few other universities in India are also taking similar initiatives to jointly commemorate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the liberation of Bangladesh.
