The Union Minister of State for Railways, Raosaheb Danve has said that a special train named Modi train will be launched from suburban Dadar station to run to Konkan region for Ganesh festival on September 7.
Speaking to reporters in Jalna district of Maharashtra on Saturday, Mr. Danve also said that 150 trains have already been released to Konkan Railway for Ganeshotsav.
He added that the Indian Railways will be running eight special air-conditioned trains for Mumbaikars travelling to the Konkan region for the Ganesh festival. The special eight air conditioned trains service will be between Mumbai and Kudal in Sindhudurg district.
Mr. Danve said keeping in mind the rush during the festival, the Railways has decided to provide additional trains to the Konkan region. He also assured that the Railways will increase the number of such trains if the demand arises. Every year, thousands of Mumbaikars travel from Mumbai and its suburbs to the Konkan areas during the ten days of the festival. Ganesh festival celebrations will start from September 10.
