Govt’s Act East Policy springs Growth of North-East in last 7 years

The Northeastern Region of India, comprising eight states, is often said to be relegated to the fringes of infrastructural and economic development.

In keeping with the larger regional goals of integration and development of Northeast, the government of India under “Act East Policy” has carried out various instrumental development projects in the last 7 years, bringing infrastructure, tourism, investment, and connectivity to the Northeastern states.

The North East of India has been a priority in Act East Policy or AEP. AEP provides an interface between North East India including the state of Arunachal Pradesh and the ASEAN region.
