Centenary celebrations of Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s Nair Hospital begin

The centenary celebrations of Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s Nair Hospital began today in the presence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. On this occasion, Thackeray praised the work done by the hospital during the Covid period and the service of the doctors and all the health workers. Also, Chief Minister said that Nair Hospital is an iconic example of perseverance and determination.

In his address, the Chief Minister said, the establishment of this organization and the journey from its conception till date is astounding. He also said that sometimes things happen at the start, but it is very difficult to sustain. He also stated that since the lockdown till date, the temples and places of worship are closed but the God has come with us in the form of a doctor to save our lives. Recalling the tough phase of Covid-19 first wave, the Chief Minister said that the first phase of the virus was difficult as it was just three months his government was formed. He added that there was a huge panic at that time as even doctors were afraid to examine patients. He said, that everything has been brought under control. He said today the world has appreciated Mumbai model and he wants to give credits of this success to all especially to the doctors and health and front line workers. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced Rs.100 crore financial aid for the hospital.
