No plans to increase curbs due to pandemic ahead of Ganesh Festival: Maharashtra Deputy CM

Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has reiterated that the State Government is not planning to increase curbs due to the pandemic ahead of Ganesh Festival. All Ganesh Mandals have agreed to celebrate the festival following all the COVID protocols and guidelines issued by the government. Hence, there is no need to impose more restrictions.

Mumbai’s Mayor Kishori Pednekar has appealed all the Ganesh Mandals to celebrate festival following all the guidelines issued by the government. She was addressing joint meeting of Ganesh Mandals, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Police and other stakeholders. She also instructed Nodal Officers to facilitate permissions to Ganesh Mandals at the earliest.

Pune’s 129 year-old Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust announced that like last year, this year’s festival will also be celebrated in the main temple instead of traditional location. Devotees will be able to take online Darshan and can perform rituals (Aarti) using augmented reality.
