Maharashtra govt directs to ensure remittance of pending scholarships to eligible students immediately

Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant on Thursday directed to ensure remittance of the pending scholarships to the eligible students immediately. Scholarships and tuition fees are given to students by various departments in the state, but students face technical difficulties in getting the scholarships. He said, the Department of Information Technology and the concerned department should hold a meeting this week to review and resolve all the complaints and distribute the scholarships pending since the last two years without any further delay.

A review meeting was held at the State Secretariat in Mumbai regarding the pending scholarships of the students. Mr. Samant said that besides providing good education to the students, all the facilities should also be made available to them in time. He also said that colleges should not refuse to provide documents to students and see to it that the students don’t suffer academically because of it. He added that action will be taken against the concerned college in case of complaints from the students.
