Konkan Railway strives to provide safe & comfortable journey to passengers

On Monday, the Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL) completed line doubling work on a 46.8-kilometer stretch between Roha and Veer (KRCL). Trains from states like- Goa, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Uttarakhand use this route.

According to a press release, the doubling work began in October 2016, which has now been completed. This will enhance smooth trains operations on the network.

According to KRCL, the doubling will alleviate congestion in the segment while also enhancing line capacity. According to the company, it will also improve train operations and throughput. After completion, the project cost came to nearly about Rs. 530 crore.

Meanwhile, at 7.35 p.m. on Monday, Train No 02619 Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Mangaluru Central Matsyagandha Express Special became the first train to pass through the completed stretch on the down line. At 8.17 p.m. on the same day, Train No 06346 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Mumbai LTT Netravathi Express Special passed via the upline. The Konkan Railway is constantly working to ensure that people traveling on their route have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Permanent Augmentation of coaches in Special Train:

In order to handle the increased passenger traffic, West Central Railway has decided to augment coaches on a permanent basis in the following trains:

Train no. 02198 / 02197 Jabalpur Jn. – Coimbatore Jn. – Jabalpur Jn. (Weekly Superfast Festival Special): One 2 Tier AC, One Sleeper & Two Second Seating Coaches are permanently added to the existing 17 Coaches on a permanent basis. The train will run with a revised composition of 21 coaches from this month.

Running of Additional Ganpati Special Trains:

The Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) would run over 200 special trains to accommodate the festive rush during the Ganpati Utsav. Passengers are also urged to follow all Covid-19-related rules and procedures when boarding, traveling, and arriving at their respective destinations.
