Assam govt issues revised set of SOP amid decline in Covid-19 positive cases

In view of decline of Covid-19 positive cases, Assam government today issued a revised set of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the state and extended the curfew time from 9pm to 5am. Addressing the newsperson, Assam Health Minister, Keshab Mahanta said that inter-district and intra-district movement of vehicles with full occupancy allowed with at least single dose of vaccine subject to observance of Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and no standing passenger shall be allowed.

Mahanta said that workplace and business establishment shall remain open upto 8pm including the functioning of government and private offices. All government officials who have taken at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine shall attend office and others will have to get themselves vaccinated within 3 days from the date of this order and attend office.

The Minister informed that physical classes of post graduate, graduate and higher secondary final year shall be allowed for students having at least a single dose of vaccine and there should not be more than 30 students in a section and all other educational institutions shall continue to use virtual mode only.

He added that directives for both rural and urban areas will remain in force with effect from 11 am on September 01, 2021  until further order. Assam on Tuesday had reported 570 new Covid-19 cases and 5 deaths.
