Tokyo Paralympics: Devendra Jhajharia & Sundar Singh Gurjar win silver and bronze in Javelin Throw

Devendra Jhajharia won Silver medal in Men’s Javelin Throw F46 Final and Sundar Singh Gurjar won bronze in javelin throw in Tokyo Paralympics.

President Ram Nath Kovind has congratulated Yogesh Kathuniya for winning silver in discus throw, Devendra Jhajharia winning Silver in javelin throw and Sundar Singh Gurjar bronze in javelin throw. In a tweet, Mr Kovind said, he is delighted to see the Paralympians bring more glory to the nation. He said, every Indian is celebrating their success.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has congratulated Devendra Jhajharia for winning Silver and Sundar Singh Gurjar for bagging a Bronze medal in Tokyo Paralympics.

In a tweet, Mr Naidu said, what a spectacular performance by our Javelin Throwers. He said, the nation is elated at their success. Mr Naidu conveyed his best wishes to them in their future endeavours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Devendra Jhajharia on winning Silver. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, it was superb performance by Devendra Jhajharia and one of our most experienced athletes wins a Silver medal. He said, Devendra has been making India continuously proud. Mr Modi conveyed Best wishes for his future endeavours. The Prime Minister also had a telephonic conversation with him. He acknowledged Devendra’s rich efforts and said since you hail from the land of Great Maharana Pratap you excel in javelin throw.

Congratulating Sundar Singh Gurjar for winning Bronze, the Prime Minister said, India is overjoyed by the Bronze medal won by Sundar Singh Gurjar. Mr Modi said, he has shown remarkable courage and dedication. He wished him the very best. During the telephonic conversation, Mr Modi said, your performance was fantastic.
