To celebrate the second anniversary of Fit India Movement and as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur today launched the Fit India Mobile Application. The Fit India App is available on both Android and iOS platforms and has been developed in such a way that it works even on basic smartphones.
Launching it in New Delhi, Mr. Thakur said, this mobile application will help monitor fitness and through it an attempt has been made to show that fitness is easy. He urged the people to download the application. The Minister called upon the people to give half an hour everyday for fitness.
Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik was also present on the occasion. Indian Hockey team captain Manpreet Singh, wrestler Sangram Singh, Ayaz Memon and others joined the event virtually.
The Fit India Movement was launched on this day in 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the vision of making India a Fit and Healthy Nation. Over the past two years, the Fit India Movement has reached millions of people across the country through its various fitness campaigns such as Fit India School Week, Fit India Freedom Run, Fit India Cyclothon and many others.
Currently, the Fit India Movement is also conducting Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 in celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence.
