Centre advises Maharashtra govt to consider imposing local restrictions ahead of festivals in view of pandemic

With the festival of Dahi Handi and Ganeshotsav just round the corner in Maharashtra, the Centre has advised the state government to consider imposing local restrictions on mass events and public gatherings during the celebrations to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

In a letter to the State Chief Secretary, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has suggested that local restrictions should be imposed to avoid crowds during the upcoming Dahihandi and Ganeshotsav, considering the risk of Covid infection
