MoS Home Affairs Nityanand Rai assures all administrative help to Ladakh

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr. Nityanand Rai has assured all administrative help to Union Territory of Ladakh. The Minister reviewed developmental activities and implementation of various schemes and programmes by the UT Administration. UT Principal Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal gave a presentation of various schemes and progress of programmes under implementation.

Minister reviewed PM Development Package programmes, Special Development Package and implementation of various other schemes. UT has appealed the Minister for non-lapsable budget, delegation of financial powers to hill councils, fiberized mobile towers to 150 unconnected villages in Ladakh, Civil airline services to Kargil, National optical fibre network and exclusive DTH Channel in Doordarshan and strengthening of All India Radio services for infotainment.

Minister Nityanand Rai assured to take the issues with the concerned departments and resolve them at the earliest. Ladakh LG RK Mathur, Advisor Umang Narula, UT Secretaries present in the review meeting.

Later, Nityanand Rai also met the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils in Leh. Kargil Hill Council CEC FEroz Ahmed Khan and Leh CEC Tashi Gyaltson appealed the minister to consider non lapsable budget for Ladakh region as it was during the JK government. They appealed early decision on domicile act, unemployment, creation of Ladakh public service commission, safeguards for Ladakh, denotification of wildlife protected area, exemption from online tendering on 10 lakh rupees worth works in remote areas are some of the issues raised by the CECs of Hill Councils.

Nityanand Rai assured to take them up in the Ministry and assured all protections to Ladakh land, language, culture and jobs with suitable decisions.
