Tamil Nadu: Rs 317.40 Crore to be allocated for Srilankan refugees living in state, says CM

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin said that Rs. 317 Crore and 40 lakhs will be allocated for the betterment of the Srilankan refugees living in the State.

In a suo moto statement at the State Assembly, the Chief Minister informed that a consultation committee including the State Minority affairs Minister and Member of Parliament will be appointed to look after the welfare of the Srilankan refugees to sort out their visas, repatriation issues, education, livelihood and employment.

The State Government will also provide Rs. 400 for gas cylinders as the refugees in the Camp can’t be benefitted under the Ujjwala Scheme. The Government also proposed to provide Rs One lakh 25 thousand for 300 self help groups and also Rs 75 thousand to 321 self help groups which are already beneficiaries of the scheme to start a micro and small enterprise.
