National capital Delhi is home to multiple heritage sites which are key attractions for people visiting the city for various reasons. The Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat campaign promotes such exchanges of heritage and history among citizens from various states of the country. By pairing Sikkim and Delhi, the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat campaign promotes opportunities to people of these states for appreciating, learning and exchanging best practices and experiences in areas of food, cuisine, heritage, tourism and lifestyle.
For example, Delhi’s heritage sites, history and fast lifestyle impressed Gangtok-based student Avinam Manger, who last visited Delhi in 2020 to participate in the National Youth Parliament. He proudly represented Sikkim in traditional attire, which is a constituent of India’s vibrant culture. Avinam shares his experience of visiting Delhi. 21-year-old, Avinam believes that knowing Delhi is a journey in itself as the national capital is a centre of literature and history. He plans to re-visit Delhi for education and career in the future.
