Meghalaya: Three INSAS rifles stolen from police outpost at Mawlai Mawkynroh recovered

In Meghalaya, three INSAS rifles, which were stolen by unidentified miscreants from the police outpost at Mawlai Mawkynroh on August 15, were recovered by the Search and Rescue Team of the Meghalaya Fire and Emergency Service today.

The weapons were dumped in the Wah Umkhra river near the Jaiaw-Umpohliew bridge in Shillong.

According to a statement from the Meghalaya Police, the search began today after reports of an anonymous letter claiming that the three weapons were dumped in the river which flows through the city.

They also expressed their gratitude to the Rangbah Shnongs of Mawlai Town Dorbar for their support in helping the police recover the weapons.
