In Himachal Pradesh, the maiden five day Jan Ashirwad Yatra led by Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur is going to conclude in Una district tonight.
Around 90 events were organized and a distance of over 620 kms was covered during the Yatra which started last Thursday.
AIR correspondent reports that tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the people and Mr Thakur was given a grand welcome across the state.
It was the Union Minister’s first maiden visit to his home state Himachal Pradesh after taking charge of two important ministries in the recent cabinet reshuffle.
During the Jan Ashirwad Yatra, 35 assemblies spread across eight districts were covered where a large number of people thronged to see and hear Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur.
The Cabinet Minister’s visit was also special as Anurag Thakur not only highlighted the achievements of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union Government, but also shared his priorities with the people of Himachal as the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Information and Broadcasting.
On the occasion Anurag Thakur also held press conferences in four Lok Sabha constituencies of the state and addressed several public gatherings.
The Union Minister said how the Congress-led opposition parties disrupted the recently concluded monsoon session of Parliament.
He condemned the unruly behaviour of opposition parties.
He stated Himachals rich art, culture and heritage would be promoted to be recognized globally.
He further added sports would also be promoted in a big way in the state.
During the yatra union minister Anurag Thakur also flagged off the Fit India run at many places under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Jan Ashirwad Yatra ends this evening at Mehatpur in Una district today.
