Centre assures to resolve issues related to Central Institute of Buddhist Studies in Leh

The Centre has assured to resolve issues related to the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) in Leh.

Following the appointment of Vice Chancellor of Nava Nalanda Mahavihara to hold additional charge of CIBS, UT Ladakh Secretary Ms. Padma Angmo met Culture Secretary Mr. Raghvendra Singh to appeal creation and filling up of Registrar, Controller of Examination and Finance Officer posts in the Deemed University CIBS.

Ms Padma Angmo also underlined the urgency of holding a Board of Management of CIBS consisting of Ministry of Culture representatives, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) President, All Ladakh Gonpa Society (ALGS) President, besides Academicians and faculty representatives.

The Board of Management shall meet at least four times a year to take decisions on academic, administrative, personnel, financial and developmental matters, met last in January 2020.

CIBS was founded in 1959 and given Deemed to be University status in 2016.

CIBS students were appealing the filling up of various vacant posts and streamlining of academic year and examinations.
