In 1923 he participated in the Nagpur Flag Satyagraha and was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for three years.
With an M.Sc degree from Michigan University in US, Hardikar met Lala Lajpat Rai while doing his Ph.D. Hardikar gave up studies and helped in founding the Indian Home Rule League.
Dr.Hardikar founded the Seva Dal which played a key role during the Civil disobedience Movement.

Dr. Hardikar was the great patriot who will remain in history as a lasting influence for the generations to come.
