More than 56 crore 64 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered in country so far

More than 56 crore 64 lakh vaccine doses of Covid-19 have been administered in the country so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over 56 lakh 36 thousand vaccine doses were administered to the eligible beneficiaries in the country during the last 24 hours. Union Health Ministry in a statement said that the country has reported 36 thousand 401 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload is currently at three lakh 64 thousand and 129 which is the lowest in 149 days. The active cases constitute 1.13 per cent of the total reported cases so far which is the lowest since March 2020.

The Ministry said, a total of 39 thousand 157 patients also recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than three crore 15 lakh 25 thousand. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.53 per cent which is the highest since March 2020.

The Ministry said, weekly positivity rate currently stands at 1.95   per cent which is less than three per cent for last 55 days. Daily positivity rate is at 1.94  per cent which is less than three per cent for last 24 days. The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and more than 50 crore tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in total. Yesterday, more than 18 lakh 73 thousand tests for COVID -19 were conducted.
