J&K: LG Manoj Sinha unfurls tricolor in Srinagar

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha unfurled the Tricolor in Srinagar today. Mr Sinha said the grass-root democracy has been strengthened in J&K fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the common citizens.  AIR correspondent reports that in the biggest Independence Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir, the Lietenant Governor Manoj Sinha today unfurled the Tricolor at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar. On the occasion, he extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In his message to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that his Government is carrying forward four resolutions of the 75th year of Independence viz. the power of public participation, the resolve of establishing a new Jammu and Kashmir, providing equal opportunities to all and technological development in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the government alongwith the youth of Jammu and Kashmir would transform the entire Union Territory into Shalamar Garden, once again. Mr Sinha said that in spite of  two Covid waves, 13,357 projects under various schemes have been completed last year and several steps for public welfare are being taken to take Jammu and Kashmir to its new heights.

The Lieutenant Governor said that before 2019, there was no health insurance scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.  But now, with the launch of Ayushuman Bharat Sehat scheme, launched for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on  December 26th last year, Rs.5 lakh per family without any discrimination is being provided to all the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. The Lietenant Governor also exhorted the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to move forward to the bright future of Jammu and Kashmir with the lines of revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
