Films Division to showcase 20 documentary films on freedom struggle & freedom fighters

Films Division will join the nation in celebrating the Independence Day-2021 with a 3-day Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Film Festival, showcasing a package of 20 documentary films on freedom struggle and freedom fighters. The films will be screened on Films Division website and YouTube channel from 15 to 17 August, 2021.

The Film Festival is being organised as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a unique initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. Select documentaries on watershed moments in the freedom struggle starting with India’s first war of independence in 1857, dawn of Gandhian era, call for  Purna Swaraj,  the great Salt March, Kala Paani and on merger of princely states after independence will be screened in the festival.
