PM Modi expresses pain over Kinnaur landslide tragedy, assures help

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the landslide tragedy at Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh is very saddening. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, in this hour of grief, his thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives. The Prime Minister hoped that the injured recover at the earliest. He said, rescue operations are underway and everything possible is being done to assist those still trapped.

Mr Modi has announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to landslide in Himachal Pradesh. 50 thousand rupees would be given to the injured.
