Paralympic Committee of India’s President Deepa Malik has said that Indian athletes have prepared well for the Tokyo Paralympic Games. She expressed confidence that team India will win medals in the games and make the country proud.
Talking exclusively to AIR News, Mrs. Deepa Malik said, India is sending its largest contingent in the games and 54 players will compete in different games. She thanked the government for providing necessary support for the preparation of players.
Khela Ratna Awardee and former Paralympian Deepa Malik said, Covid-19 pandemic has posed challenge during the preparation for the Tokyo Paralympic Games. She said, players did not get exposure for international sporting events due to Covid pandemic, however, several steps have been taken to prepare the players. She said, focus has been laid on the mental training of the athletes.
