Assam govt felicitates Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain

The Assam government has felicitated boxer Lovlina Borgohain in Guwahati today who won a Bronze medal in Tokyo Olympic. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has awarded her 1 crore rupees and a monthly scholarship of 1 lakh rupees till next Olympics. She would also be appointed as DSP in Assam Police.

Apart from that, her 5 coaches will be given 10 lakh rupees each. The Assam government would also build a sports complex worth 25 crore rupees at her native Barpathar in Golaghat district. A road in Guwahati city will be named after Lovlina who has become the first player of Assam to clinch an Olympics medal.
